District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) Meeting Held for Gyalshing District
Gyalshing, December 23 (IPR): The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Gyalshing District was convened today at the Conference Hall of Zilla Panchayat Bhawan, Kyongsa.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Indra Hang Subba,Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha-cum-Chairman, DISHA. The meeting was also attended by Mr DS Limboo Zilla Adhyaksha Gyalshing, Ms Yishey D. Yongda, District Collector-cum-Member Secretary, DISHA, ADC, SDM, Heads of Offices of various departments, members DISHA and other district officials.
All HoDs (12 in all) presented their status report on various projects and schemes through a power point presentation.
The proceedings commenced with the opening remarks by the Member Secretary-cum-DC, Gyalshing, wherein a comprehensive review of the previous DISHA meeting was undertaken department-wise. During the deliberations, the house conducted a thorough review of issues and bottlenecks hindering the progress and implementation of various schemes and projects and the way forward to address these challenges with proactive participation from public representatives and departmental officials.
The MP in his address, placed his appreciation for the innovative work and initiatives taken by the District Collector and thanked her for leading the district to new heights. He made specific mention of the Gyalshing Reads programme and the national level event titled Sikkim Arts & Literature festival at Yuksam in 2023, initiated by the DC.
The Chairperson encouraged departmental heads, BDOs and officials to execute schemes and projects in close coordination with Gram and Zilla Panchayat members. He reiterated his commitment for providing support and guidance and emphasized on the importance of collective efforts for holistic development of the district. He further mentioned that monitoring of the work in progress at various levels need to be properly monitored and kept in check so that the rural populous can get the best work out of the sanctioned projects and facilities. He also mentioned that the key element in the progression of the district is close inter-departmental coordination and also amongst the elected representatives. He urged the departments to carry out their work with more efficiency and quality and to crosscheck their data with their counterparts to ensure genuine data being floated.
